Up until September 1, 2019, we have collected funds on the first Sunday of the month using the title “Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Offering,” and the funds were used to send shoeboxes through Samaritan’s Purse ministries.

On September 15, 2019 during the 10:00 a.m. service, Pastor Mann asked the congregation if they would consider using the funds already collected in 2019 and the funds that we will collect for the remainder of the year to be used for Lamb of God Ministries in Mexico (Rev. Juan Beccera).  This will allow us to reach more children as we will not have to pay the $7.00 shipping charge for each box. The Beccera’s will come to Evansville to pick up the boxes.

Debbie Hayes motioned that we follow this recommendation. Doug Boze seconded the motion. Pastor Mann asked for a show of hands for all that were in favor (it looked like the entire congregation raised their hands). He asked if any were opposed and none were. These changes will be in effect as of September 15, 2019.

The Shoebox offering for November was $234.25. Our current balance towards 2019 shoeboxes is $2,634.02.

The children and youth will be filling the shoeboxes with goodies in the church basement on Wednesday, Nov. 20 during WOW classes!
