1 Peter 1:18-19 (KJV) “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:”
The blood of Jesus is extraordinary blood! Let us consider…
Hebrews 2:14a (KJV) “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; …” (Emphasis Added).
“Took part” means something much different than “to partake!” When one “partakes,” he shares fully with, in, or through something or someone. ALL the children of men have shared fully in the flesh AND blood of lost humanity descending from Adam.
When Jesus “took part,” He shared in the flesh of humanity through His mother, Mary; therefore, He is the “seed of woman,” and the “seed of David,” through His human mother. However, His blood was a result of a supernatural conception.
Luke 1:35 (KJV) “And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God” (Emphasis Added).
Since “the life of the flesh is in the blood,” we believe that sin is transmitted through the blood of the natural father, without whom babies are not conceived (even in In-Vitro fertilization or IVF treatment).
Romans 5:12 (KJV) “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” (Emphasis Added).
When God created Adam, He formed him of the dust of the earth and then He breathed into Adam’s nostrils “the breath of life.” It was after God’s “breath” entered Adam’s body that he became a “living soul” (Genesis 2:7). We know that “the life of the flesh is in the blood,” (Leviticus 17:11); therefore, we understand that Father God placed Adam’s blood within him.
In like manner, the Holy Spirit provided the Man, Christ Jesus with His blood.
Therefore, the Blood of Jesus is…
The Holy Spirit gave the Man, Christ Jesus His blood. There is none like it, and never will be. It is Divine Blood! It is Precious Blood!“Precious” means – Valuable, Costly, Prized, and Expensive. Can anyone doubt that God the Father gave His most Prized Possession when He gave His Only Begotten Son to redeem lost humanity?! He did not give one of His Sons, He gave His ONLY Son!John 3:16 (KJV) “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (Emphasis Added).
Therefore, the Blood of Jesus is…
Judas confessed, “I have betrayed the innocent blood” (Matthew 27:4). Jesus was identified with humanity in all respects EXCEPT one – He was, is, and will always be SINLESS!Hebrews 4:15 (KJV) “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin” (Emphasis Added).Hebrews 7:26 (KJV) “For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;” (Emphasis Added).
Therefore, the Blood of Jesus is…
Psalm 16:10 (KJV) “For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption” (Emphasis Added). When Adam sinned, his blood became corruptible. Decay begins almost immediately after death; and, it begins in the blood; therefore, when an animal is slaughtered, or killed for food, it is imperative that the meat be well-drained of it blood. This is the primary reason that God gave instructions to NOT eat anything with the blood!Leviticus 3:17 (KJV) “It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood.” (Emphasis Added).Deuteronomy 12:23 (KJV) “Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou mayest not eat the life with the flesh” (Emphasis Added).I understand that embalmers place embalming fluid in the blood stream after emptying as much blood from the dead. This is done to slow the decaying process. The Blood of Jesus was PERFECT; therefore, even though His body was dead three days and three nights, His body did NOT have any decay! Now, you might ask, “If the Blood of Jesus was Perfectly Sinless, why did He die?”
The answer is quite simple Scripturally…
John 10:18 (KJV) “No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father” (Emphasis Added).
It was impossible to put Jesus to the death UNLESS He submitted Himself to the Will of God and gave Himself a “Ransom” for many. He had the power to rise from the dead because sin had NO claim upon Him! He took the claim of others’ sin (2 Corinthians 5:21), and when the “claim” was paid, He rose!
Jesus made a statement to Nicodemus that “rocked” his world, and is doing the same today…
John 3:5 (KJV) “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God” (Emphasis Added).
As mentioned earlier, when God “breathed” into Adam’s nostrils the “Breath of Life,” we believe that God infused him with sinless blood and “birthed” him into a holy life (Genesis 2:7).
We also understand from Scripture that the Second Person of the Holy Trinity, the Eternal Logos, God’s Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ is the Agent through Whom God created, and creates, all things (John 1:1). The Holy Spirit was, is, and will always be active in the creation as well (Genesis 1:2).
With this doctrinal belief, we can understand that when Jesus “breathed” upon the disciples after His resurrection (John 20:22), and said, “Receive ye the Holy Ghost,” He was infusing them with a Holy Life made manifest in the Presence of the Holy Spirit Who dwells in every “born again” believer. Since theirs, and our, bodies have not been redeemed (Romans 8:21-23), our sinful blood, resident in the flesh, has not been changed; but, we no longer have to live according to our “flesh,” but according the Spirit (Romans 8:1).
Why did Jesus “Breathe” upon His disciples after His resurrection? Why does He “Breathe” upon us in the Presence of the Holy Spirit? It is because Jesus IS the “Breath of God,” and always will be! Hebrews 13:8 (KJV) “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Emphasis Added).
I love the Word of God!!! Yes, I love Jesus, AND I love the Scriptures! The Greek word for that was translated “same” Hebrews 13:8, means “Baffling Wind.” Jesus IS the “Same” “Baffling Wind or Breath of God!”
