Colossians 2:8-10 “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.  For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.  And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:” (Emphasis Added).

Since the “fulness of the Godhead” dwelt in Jesus, He manifested the Triune Godhead while here on earth.  Jesus manifested…

Study of Scripture reveals that the “Manifest Power, Presence, and Provision” of Almighty God is made know through the moving of the Holy Spirit.  He is the One Who enabled the Man, Christ Jesus to accomplish His Saving Mission…

Acts 10:38 (KJV) “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him” (Emphasis Added).

For us to understand what the Holy Spirit is teaching concerning this subject of “The Fulness Bodily,” we must consider that God could have created another “normal,” human being as He did Adam.  By “normal,” I mean like every one of us, this “new man” could have been created sinless as Adam was, with NO Divine Nature.  However, Praise the Lord!  The Triune Godhead designed a Marvelous, Mystical, and Miraculous Plan of Salvation wherein “The Word of God was made flesh, and dwelt among us!”

The Man, Christ Jesus is the “Last Adam” …

1 Corinthians 15:45-47 (KJV) “And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven” (Emphasis Added).

God created Adam to generate a race of people that would manifest His Peace, Presence, and Power on the earth.

Genesis 2:7 “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul” (Emphasis Added).

Adam sinned, and his sin resulted in death passing upon all men because all have sinned.  Therefore, God sent His Only Begotten Son (Last Adam) to generate a “people of choice” that would manifest His Peace, Presence, and Power on the earth.

John 20:22 “And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:” (Emphasis Added).

As stated earlier, the Holy Spirit empowered the Man, Christ Jesus to accomplish His Mission and to be the Eternal Intercessor through Whom those who called upon Him for salvation would be secured.

1 Timothy 2:5 (KJV) “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” (Emphasis Added).

Hebrews 7:25 (KJV) “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them” (Emphasis Added).

As “The Life,” Jesus manifested the Holy Spirit as the…

  • SOURCE of Life

When God created the heavens and the earth, it was the Holy Spirit Who “Brooded” over the “face of the waters” to bring forth life.

Genesis 1:2 (KJV) “And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters” (Emphasis Added).

Jesus manifested the Holy Spirit when he spoke with Nicodemus…

John 3:5-8 (KJV) “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit” (Emphasis Added).

As certainly that the Holy Spirit brought “Life” to a formless, void, and dark earth, so He brings “Life” to a spiritually-dead soul!

Ephesians 2:1 (KJV) “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;” (Emphasis Added).

The beasts of the field say: “Love made me.”  The birds of the air say: “Love made me.”  The creatures that swim in the rivers and the sea say: “Love made me.”  Only man, his back turned to the sun, does not say “Love made me.”  But when he turns round in the light of Christ, then he too knows in his heart “Love made me” and he cries out with every living creature, “Love made me!  My Father in heaven loves me.” — Michael Sellers, The Word of God and the Wisdom of Man

John 10:27-28 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:  And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”

I believe the greatest evidence that the Man, Christ Jesus manifested the Holy Spirit as the “Source of Life,” is found at Calvary.

Luke 23:42-43 (KJV) “And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise” (Emphasis Added).

Some might say, “There is no evidence in that setting!!  No one could ‘see’ that Jesus gave the thief eternal life!”

The thief believed it!  And, the thief experienced it!  Jesus already explained such a spiritual phenomenon…

John 3:8 (KJV) “The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit” (Emphasis Added).

Needing to “see” it before one “believes” it is like anyone dismissing the presence of the wind just because they cannot see it.  It’s like someone believing the wind “exists” because the movement of a tree’s limbs cause the wind!  It is the very Presence of the Holy Spirit that produces the evidence of “Life.”

“Precisely how a man nailed to a cross 2,000 years ago, who claimed to be the Son of God, came to signify reality, in contradiction to the sawdust men of destiny with their fraudulent wars and revolutions and liberations, is something that can be understood, but not explained. You either see it or you don’t.” — Malcolm Muggeridge

Romans 8:14-16 (KJV) “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:” (Emphasis Added).

Thy dying thief who called upon the Man, Christ Jesus to be “remembered,” received the assurance of eternal life immediately!  How do we know?  There is no further mention of his railing at Jesus OR the executioners.  He had been immediately enveloped by the Peace of God that passes all understanding!

As “The Life,” Jesus manifested the Holy Spirit as the…

  • SUSTAINER of Life

The Man, Christ Jesus manifested the Power of the Holy Spirit to sustain life on many occasions.  One of these occasions was when Jesus raised Lazarus from the deadBEFORE, He raised Lazarus, Jesus had a revealing conversation with Martha.

John 11:25-26 “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:  And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?” (Emphasis Mine)

Not long after this conversation, Jesus stood before the tomb of Lazarus and cried out, “Lazarus!  Come forth!”  Scripture reveals that Lazarus immediately arose and was only hindered by the bindings that humans had placed on him (John 11:43-44).

Jesus made an “Impossible” promise…

John 2:19 (KJV) “Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up” (Emphasis Added).

We know that Jesus was speaking of His Resurrection with this promise!

John 2:20-22 (KJV) “Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body. When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said” (Emphasis Added).

As Jesus was preparing to enter His Passion, He gave the following promise.

John 14:19 “Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also” (Emphasis Added).

The Resurrection of the Man, Christ Jesus is the epitome of the manifestation of “The Fulness Bodily!”  When the Man, Christ Jesus stepped out of His tomb, He was the “Evidence” of all He said He was, and all He said He could do!  He was, is, and will be “The Fullness of the Godhead Bodily!”

Jesus manifested the Holy Spirit as the “Sustainer of Life” in His Resurrection.  So will we…

Romans 8:11 (KJV) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you” (Emphasis Added).

This teaching is timely!  It is an attempt to reaffirm our faith in the Man, Christ Jesus as the Only Begotten Son of God, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, the Faithful and True Witness, and our soon-coming King!

It is also a reminder that the Father’s Perfect Will is that we all be conformed to the image of His Dear Son (Romans 8:29).  As such, we are designed by God to Present His Presence, Peace, and Power just like Jesus did!

Ephesians 3:17-21 (KJV) That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen” (Emphasis Added).
