Pastor Mann's October Prayer Focus
 
Matthew 22:37-39 (KJV) “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”

FATHER, You command us to love You with all our heart, and with all our soul, and with all our mind.  You also command us to love our neighbor as ourselves. You are the Good, Gracious, and Generous God; therefore, loving You is NOT that difficult! After all, You love and nurture us!
FATHER, we confess that while we love You, we do NOT love You will ALL our heart, soul, and mind. This is evident in the fact that we do NOT readily love our neighbor with the same  intensity that we love ourselves. Perhaps it is because we fail to recognize or remember that You created ALL humanity in Your Image and after Your Likeness.
FATHER, we call upon You to heal our hearts, and the Heart of our Nation! Remind us that we are the Heart of our Nation and the violence and hatred taking place around us is a direct result of we, Your people, NOT loving You with all our heart, and with all our soul, and with all our mind!
FATHER, grant a revival of Your Love in our hearts. Enable us to see You when we see others. Enrich us to consider that how we treat others is exactly how we are treating You.  Empower us to love others simply because You created them with the same needs, hopes, and desires as us. Encourage us to value everyone we meet in the same way as Your Holy Son validates us.
FATHER, we call upon You to open the “blinded eyes” of ALL who do not “see” their need of salvation. We pray that You will soften the hearts of those who do not value the sanctity of life. We pray that you will move upon the hearts of mothers to cherish their children more than themselves. We pray for the peace of Jerusalem, and that You will change the hearts of those who seek the destruction of Your Chosen People!
FATHER, we ask this in the Holy Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth – Your Only Begotten Son. AMEN!
